This is a piano medley of South African folk songs “Singabahambayo” (We are marching for freedom) and “Siyahamba” (We are marching in the light of God). The LH carries the rhythmic pulse while the RH carries melody and harmony. Changing, syncopated rhythm patterns provide a rewarding challenge while celebrating the beauty of these South African melodies. A fantastic choice for a recital piece.

Accessible for smaller hands: The largest harmonic interval is a Major 6th (inverted chord triad).
