Requires careful attention to detail, dynamics, and technical pedaling expertise with lifts in each measure. A great choice for a classical (or even Halloween) performance.
This is an early intermediate piano arrangement of the opening theme to Schubert’s “Erlkönig” (inspired by the haunting Goethe poem). It’s simplified for early intermediate level, but still filled with interesting technical challenges such as repeat note fingerings in both hands (3-2-1-3-2-1), LH melody, and quick repeating harmonies (loose wrists!). Dramatic and intense, it’s a fantastic classical piece for the Halloween season.
