Kullak’s “Grandmother Tells a Ghost Story” is a great Halloween character piece for intermediate students. • Jupiter (The Planets)

    $3.99$8.99

From a young age I was moved by this beautiful theme from Gustav Holst’s The Planets Suite. While much of the “Jupiter” movement is fast and lively, the theme arranged here carries a certain grandeur that is perfectly befitting the majesty of this ruling planet. This arrangement is in the original key of E-flat Major and begins with single-note melody supported by simple close range harmony, which gradually expands in breadth and harmony to full fortissimo chords. Beautiful soaring melodic lines accompanied by supportive bass harmonies make this a strong selection for an intermediate piano solo, perfect for a recital piece.

  • Here Comes the Bride (Bridal Chorus)

    $3.99$9.99

“Here Comes the Bride”, “Bridal Chorus”, “Wedding March” — by whatever name it is known, this beloved classical melody is familiar to all and instantly transports the listener to a wedding scene. This arrangement is written simply and traditionally for late beginner piano in C Major. The RH melody is accompanied by Left Hand primary chords and occasional simple harmonies that are perfect for a performance or even a special event. This arrangement was originally written for a student to perform at his parents’ vow renewal ceremony.

The Single-User License includes the traditional dotted rhythms. The Studio License comes with a second version in which the dotted rhythms have been replaced with ties; this version sounds the same as the first when played, but presents another way to read for those who prefer ties over dotted rhythms.

  • Can-Can (Offenbach)

    $3.99$8.99

The famous Can-Can music comes from Offenbach’s opera “Orpheus in the Underworld”, from which the selection “Galop Infernal” was adopted by Paris cabarets for their can-can dances. This intermediate level arrangement contains not only the main theme, but represents the full range of themes from this dramatic opera number. Filled with exciting articulations, bold dynamics, and more, this lively arrangement is the perfect crowd pleaser and performs excellently as a well-known early intermediate piano recital choice.

BONUS: Because the largest harmonic interval is a Major 6th, pianists with small hands can easy play this without sacrificing musicality or altering chords. (LH octaves at the end are optional.)

  • A Minor Adagio

    $3.99$8.99

A Minor Adagio is a beginner level piece that is the epitome of adagio – slow, solemn, and expressive. It is comprised of chords with the highest chord tone carrying the melodic line. Each chord has only 3 keys played simultaneously between the 2 hands, and all the intervals are either 2nds or 3rds. Combined with the steady rhythm and pattern-based transitions, this piece is very approachable for beginner pianists, yet it does not feel or sound “simple”. The minor key and dynamics that range from pianississimo to forte encourage a mature depth of musical expression. A Minor Adagio is an excellent selection especially for those interested in learning to play classical music and traditional hymns.

  • Tribute to Rachmaninoff (Beginner-Teacher Duet)

    $9.99

Even a new beginner pianist can appreciate the beautiful complexity of Rachmaninoff’s music. This duet is a medley of two of Rachmaninoff’s most popular Preludes (C# minor and G minor) and is written for an early beginner (Primo) and teacher or intermediate level pianist (Secondo). Strategically transposed to A minor for ease in learning, the Secondo pianist plays the deep accompaniment tones while the Primo pianist plays the main melody for a balanced taste of the original full, resonant pieces. Perfect for a new pianist’s recital performance.
